Recently I had finished a t-shirt illustration for the hard rock group Amygdala of Davison, Michigan. I and the band realized a little later that the illustration resembled the ol’ Grateful Dead logo. I had no intention nor did have any influence by any other outside artwork – Only the song samples that the band provided me with. However, it’s still pretty humorous that it does show some resemblance to the Grateful Dead icon. I find that interesting when I did not even mean to do so.
Regardless, the band and I are happy by what turned out. The main challenge in this project was to create one design that could be unisex so that both guys and dolls could wear this and still feel whether it be ‘manly’ or ‘girly’. This made the project easier in a way as well as cost-effective for Amygdala.
