Sketchbook

Darth Brooks

{ UPDATED SKETCH from the initial post } A running joke with a friend of mine although not as original as we thought it was after checking it on search engines. However, I still feel a full fledged portrait painting comin’ on.. perhaps a future album cover?

I Don’t Give a Flying Monkey..!

I heard that a certain film is releasing in a couple years and so I was a bit inspired. This is my interpretation of the character that is the Wicked Witch of the West and her damned flying monkeys enjoying an evil outing on an old Oz park bench among a damaged patch of the yellow brick road and enjoying smelly spoiled foods. I suppose you could say I took the “crazy-bird-lady” approach to this.

Memories & Medication

I recently visited a retirement home where my mother works as the hairdresser every Thursday and had the chance to sketch some residents and nurses there. We listened to a man playing American folk songs, classic tunes from movies, and old hymns on the piano and I got to listen to the residents’ stories of when they were a tad younger than they are now.

Korea Sketches vol.1

Here are a few select sketches from the past year that I finally consolidated into one post. Some, like the following image, have notes such as where I was and dates, even times, written next to the sketch. Enjoy.
